Upland Completes 3-Mile Lateral in Highly Over-Pressured Cherokee Core

Building upon a record of successful 2-mile laterals this year, Upland Exploration recently completed its first 3-mile lateral well (Blue Clear Sky 19-31 1H). This isn’t the first time Upland has been associated with leading-edge technology and development, as it was also the first Operator to complete a lateral longer than two miles in this play (The Quiet Man 105-107 1H – August 2023). Upland continues to take the knowledge and experience learned by the onshore oil and gas industry and apply it to this overlooked shale play, generating one of the lowest breakeven oil prices in the U.S. and increasing the outstanding economics of the Cherokee play.

In a series of 2024 transactions, Upland successfully negotiated sales and trades with SandRidge Exploration, allowing Upland to secure additional leases in Roger Mills and Ellis counties and begin operations on the Telli Camdyn 30/19 1H – one of the most productive wells in the state.  With the Easy Come Easy Go 1-36 2H and the Big John 10/3 1H wells, Upland will complete its 19th and 20th wells in the Cherokee play.
